Okify is a holistic fix for everything rental. Owners, tenants and real estate professionals can benefit from it, having every service related to rental at hand.
THE CHALLENGE
DAS is one of the main insurance companies in Spain, one of their specialties being rent guarantee insurance. DAS was looking for a new solution to increase its number of leads in this particular sector.
Instead of just building new acquisition channels for DAS to get more customers, Corporate Lab looked for more innovative ways to do so. Finding a new approach to become a part of the value chain in this sector while responding to DAS’ needs was the new objective.
While researching this market, its players and its needs, some key pain points were found out. One of the main issues for real-estate agencies was to have the ideal number of tenants per apartment. Having a greater volume of potential tenants was not enough, since filtering them was a time-consuming process too. On the other hand, owners had trouble identifying quality tenants in terms of rent guarantee and taking good care of the apartment.
THE SOLUTION
During the first stages of this project, the Corporate Lab team focused on a tenant profiling feature. By gathering advantageous data about the tenant, a profile could be built and used in order to give owners some guarantees related to the rental. This system could also fix the main pain point for real-estate agencies, being a filtering feature that helped them achieve the ideal number of potential tenants per apartment.
Researching insurance players worldwide, as well as tools to introduce ourselves in the value chain were the first steps carried out. Interviewing real-estate agents, owners and tenants was crucial - it was needed to know what their pain points were and how to solve them properly.
DREAM TEAM
As Okify grew and started becoming a prominent company, Corporate Lab started looking for a team that could take on the project and scale it as an independent company.
Finding a team of entrepreneurs working in the insurance sector was the key point at this stage. Finding Mikel Sanzol and Xavier Ardanuy was a success. They were working at an accelerator, building their own startup in a similar field as Okify.
The investment of Corporate Lab -along with the help of other business angels- was the starting point of Okify as an independent company, since they officially became co-founders of Okify.
AWARDS
Okify was recognized as one of the best ideas of 2019. Actualidad Económica has been organizing these awards for more than 40 years:The best 100 ideas of the year. In 2019, Okify received an award in the real state category, prize that Brais (Corporate Lab) and Gen (DAS) picked up in the event in Madrid.
